About us
Taiwan has officially become a “super-aged society” (more than 20% of the population is 65 or older), and its population is aging faster than almost anywhere in the world.
Out of a wish to give back to our hometown and care for older adults, the Taipei Chiayi Fellow Townsmen Association and local volunteers founded 中正高齡產業研發服務股份有限公司 (Chung Cheng Gaoling Industry Research and Development Service Co., Ltd.) at the Zhiyuan Building of National Chung Cheng University. Putting the real needs of older adults first, we bring together industry, government, academia and research, and focus on three directions: senior welfare technology, aging-life industries, and precise whole-person care. Our aim is to help Taiwan meet the social changes that aging brings, and to spark new smart-care business models and research capacity.
Taiwan is an aging society, and the share of older people keeps rising. According to the Ministry of the Interior's Department of Household Registration (county and city population age structure indicator 9701), as of November 2022 (ROC year 111) Taiwan had 4,066,646 people aged 65 or older (1,844,125 men and 2,222,521 women), or 17.50% of the population. By county, outside the six special municipalities, Chiayi County has the highest share of older people at 21.63% (105,680 people), followed by Yunlin County at 20.095% (133,502 people) and Nantou County at 20.07% (96,275 people).
Many members of the Taipei Chiayi Fellow Townsmen Association and its Minxiong chapter, wanting to give back to their hometown and care for older adults, founded “中正高齡產業研發服務股份有限公司 (Chung Cheng Gaoling Industry Research and Development Service Co., Ltd.)” in 2020 on the first floor of the Zhiyuan Building at National Chung Cheng University. Starting from the needs of older adults, and combining National Chung Cheng University's 20 years of research on aging with deep local roots, we aim to offer varied, cross-disciplinary local services for the aging society ahead. We want to give older adults services they can rely on, ease the care burden on families, and bring together industry, government, academia and research to help Taiwan face the challenges of aging and find solutions together. We hope this will spark new research capacity and new business models.
We hold to the principle of “people first, technology empowered.” By combining care technology with the real needs of older adults, we develop smart care products and innovative service models that fit them. This helps ease the challenges and care pressures of an aging society and creates a safer, more convenient and more dignified living environment for older adults.
We currently run three service units: (A) the regional integration unit (A-Unit case management), (B) home care services and a day care center, and (C) community meal service for older adults at local sites run by a community development association. Through this varied and complete service system, we support older adults from care at home to community participation and day care.
At the same time, we focus on putting into practice and testing three directions, senior welfare technology, aging-life industries and services for older adults. We actively promote healthy aging, aging in place, successful aging and joyful learning in later life, and we are building an aging industry model for the future.
Going forward, we will keep working with industry, government, academia and research to become an important practice platform that responds to society's needs. We also aim to be a base for long-term care teaching, innovative research on aging life, and smart health care development. Together we will upgrade the senior care industry and build a friendlier, more sustainable aging society.
This is the foundation of how we hire staff, and anyone who breaks it is let go. Uprightness is a good nature, and honesty is the basis of character.
This society raised us and helped us grow. What we take from society we should give back, so that each generation carries on for the next!
Older adults need our care, and the company must also care for its employees' livelihoods! Only with reasonable revenue, lawful tax payment and fitting contributions back can the company keep running for the long term.
Aging is a challenge, but it is also a chance for social change as new technologies emerge.
We bring resources together to meet the issues of an aging society with foresight. We also use this as a starting point to advance topics tied to local communities, industry, technology and intergenerational living, turning aging transformation into action.
We are moving from passively facing aging to actively responding to its issues and problems.
